Myungji Uhm Yoon-hyuk "Hard work and strength, I am very confident"
The eighth microbe is Myeongji University's Uhm Yoon-hyuk (F, 193cm). Let's hear how he hopes to become the team's "chance" with his strengths.
#A fresh shock from the process
Uhm started playing basketball at a rather late age, in the third grade of middle school. He loved to move around from a young age and played soccer in elementary school, but as he moved up to middle school, he made friends who loved basketball. He participated in clubs and athletic competitions and developed a love for the game.
His father, a former field hockey player, was against the idea because he knew it would be a tough road, but his mother was supportive. Uhm followed his mother's advice and headed to Yangjeongjoong.
The first step toward his dream couldn't have been better. "When I first started, I felt like it wasn't the basketball I knew. I thought I knew how to play basketball, but there were things like defense, so I was shocked when I first tried it."
Because he caught the basketball later than his peers, he focused on fundamentals. During shooting practice, he practiced rebounding alone on the hoop. As an aside, he admits that he was nervous during the game and got confused about where the other team was on the court.
#Tears shed during her first basketball game
After transferring from Inheon Middle School, Uhm Yoon-hyuk joined Inheon High School and opted for paid work after his freshman year. At the time, Inheungo was a new team, so his role as a center was very important, and he honed his skills. His hard work gradually paid off.
In 2018, his sophomore year. In a preliminary round game against Chungju, a southern high school in the 55th Spring National Boys and Girls Basketball Federation, he scored 18 points, 14 rebounds, one assist, and one steal. He not only grabbed rebounds, but also scored points.
His growth continued in the championships. In the game against Yeosu Hwayang High School in the 43rd National Boys' and Girls' Basketball Yeosu Championship, he scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to help his team win the rebounding advantage (45-31).
He was proud of his performance and looking forward to the rest of the tournament. But then injury struck. In his sophomore year of high school, he suffered an ankle injury, and in his junior year, he suffered a knee injury during a practice game. The knee injury brought him to tears.
"My ankle was just a bone fracture, not a ligament, so I wasn't intimidated by it, but my knee was a torn ACL and a torn meniscus, and I cried a little bit when I got the report, because I was like, 'Is this the end of my basketball career?'" he says.
During the break, he missed his teammates and wanted to play, and he was very emotionally weak, but he loved the game and wanted to get through it. With the help of his coach and the people around him, Uhm bounced back and finished his senior year by making a comeback at the national championships in July of that year.
#Basketball nourishment in college
Getting accepted to Myungji University was a new opportunity for Uhm, whose record was low due to injuries, but just like when he first 토토사이트 started playing basketball, he was nervous about the start of college. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he was unable to train with his team or play in any competitions.
Nevertheless, I didn't give up and looked to the future, especially when it came to physical fitness. Although the league was still unstable in his second year, his third year, 2022, brought him many realizations.
First of all, the first match of the MBC Bae in July was against Sangmyung. The team suffered a crushing defeat (56-102). He realized, "This is not how it should be. Uhm Yun-hyuk used the MBC boat as a springboard to create a new record in basketball at the national championships.
At the 77th National Basketball Championship, Myeongji University finished third, and Uhm received the Gamtoo Award. "It was my first award in basketball, and I thought, 'I can do better,' and I think that's what I felt when I played against Freddie when we met KU in the quarterfinals."
This season, Myungji University has been on a roll, going on a winning streak early in the league and is currently in 해외안전놀이터 추천 playoff contention. Uhm Yoon-hyuk looks back on the season with both regret and enthusiasm.
"I injured my ankle in a practice game before the season and couldn't play half of the league, so I want to play the remaining games and the MBC Varsity without regrets."
